Established in 1991 and registered with harrow Youth Voluntary Services, the main objective of Iran School is teaching Persian to Iranian, Afghani and Tajiki students residing in North West London. Located at Belmont First School, Harrow Wealdstone, the school is open to all students aged 5-16. Currently there are 60 students, 8 teachers and a football coach. School is currently run by Mrs R. Jokar who is specialist in the subject with many years of experience in teaching and running schools both in Iran and England. Teachers are all qualified for teaching Persian as mother tongue or a second language and certified to work with children (DBS checked).

The HICA is planning a number recreational and social projects scheduled for the coming months. These will include the introduction of a women’s only social group and a children’s Music/Art club. Please contact us for details and information about these and projects.

Maths Supplementary Classes

HICA in collaboration with John Lyons Charity and NRCSE (national resource centre for supplementary education) runs Maths supplementary classes at Belmont School on Saturdays between 13:00 and 15:00. Students from all backgrounds who would like to benefit from these lessons are welcome to join.

To improve the quality of life and networking between elderly in Harrow and neighbouring boroughs, HICA has lunched an Elderly Lunchtime Club at JOLFA Restaurant, Rayners Lane, Mondays from 1-4pm.


In collaboration with Carramea, ESOL classes are held at Carramea Resource Centre at different levels (Pre-Entry, Entry 1, Entry 2, Entry 3 and Functional Skills in English).
